Impact GCA reviews

GCA Lamp (250W) (120V) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 53.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Lamp - Handle with Care At first I had two of these lamps blow within the first hour of using them. A client slightly hit the light stand and one went out. Then I moved another stand and that lamp blew. It was bad. Then Impact offered to replace the lamps for me and try the new ones out. They really are great lamps. Bright and good throw. My only advice, turn them off before you move them; even the smallest move.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not extremely durable The bulb usually works great as long as I am not doing much transportation of my lights. When I am moving lights for projects, it doesn't take much of a bump, and the bulb is wrecked.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fragile In general, these gca lamps are terribly fragile. If you so much as look at them wrong the filament will pop. Otherwise, they do produce a nice bright light if you're careful.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too Fragile Two of these lamps blew on our set after moving the light stands around. First time I had ever used them and the filament busted too easily. Very cheaply made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable, longer lasting than expected I am always surprised at how long these bulbs last. For how much I use my lights (somewhat frequently, if not every week) I often get to the point where I am nervous that I will have a bulb blow out in the middle of a time sensitive shoot. Yet, they continue to burn seemingly LONG beyond their suggested lifespan. I never feel bad when I have to drop a few dollars on replacements. Money well spent, always.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bulbs be Bulbs I use the product for photo and video lighting. The bulbs are a bit warmer than I remember, but they give off a great light and they are easily diffused. The light they go with focuses as well so you get a way to make it seem brighter when you are bouncing the light on something. They are very good lights, but you need to make sure you don't move them around when they are on. They heat up pretty quick and the bulb with blow if you move it or bump it too hard. Otherwise, amazing lights and BandH always gets things here on time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for the Price I bought this one because it was cheaper than the others. It hasn't failed me yet, but it's only been a few months. Be sure not to handle it with your bare hands. Wear gloves when you put it into your light. Finger oils can cause lamps like these to fail prematurely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Deal on a Compact Lamp This is the lamp that you put in a Lowel Pro light. For 250 watts you get a lot of punch. This unit is the generic version of a more expensive lamp made by anther company. This one does the job and saves you money. I have used it in backlights for live TV shows for ESPN and the MLB Network. I can not tell you how long they last because I have never had one blow out. I only had to buy it because I bought a used light that did not come with the lamp.
