question

What material is the frame and slide made out of?
Asked by: Ron Y.
Ron, the dark slides are made from a plastic material that is not 100% opaque and will cloud your film. You can read about this in the Large Format Photography Forum thread entitled Blotchy pattern on 4x5 negatives

question

Did Toyo replace the darkslide with newer opaque ones, I've read they will be replacing those plastic slides with aluminum?
Asked by: Abdulmuhsen
The Toyo holders I purchased in July 2017 have anodized aluminum dark slides, but the inside back of the holders is plastic, unlike my older Lisco holders that have metal (presumably aluminum) backs.
