I have these on several of my tripods. I only put one on each tripod. They are handy in the winter providing a warmer handhold. I've gotten them wet and they dry without issues. Main drawback is the expense.
I really wanted these leg protectors to work. However, they were too large for my Gitzo tripod and overwrapped each other. The small stick section immediately didn't hold requiring me to tape the protectors on top, middle and bottom. That still didn't prevent them from sliding on the legs. They did help protect from winter frozen tripod legs, and minor cushioning. They will be replaced with another brand.
