Avenger C-Stand 22 Overview

This 7.3' Avenger Turtle Base C-Stand has black steel construction, a 3-section column with 2 risers and a maximum height of 7.3'. It features a detachable "turtle" base that is easily removed for ease of transport. For added versatility, a light head can be mounted to the base directly with the aid of a stand adapter (E200).

The innovative design on the base allows individual legs to be set at any angle, allowing positioning in locations not possible with classic stands.

High Quality C-Stand. (See note about foot diameter)

I needed something a bit shorter in the studio and wanted to try out the Avenger brand, as I have Matthews and Kupo brand C-Stands and enjoy the quality of their build and performance a lot. This Avenger C-Stand is also extremely well built and operates quite smoothly. It should last for many years (and you can even replace the bolts to keep the stand going.) Though, I will say, it is not as rigid as my Matthews C-Stands, as there is a tad more wobble in the column. But the Matthews C-Stands are welded together, unlike the Avengers, which are bolted, so that might account for it. However, this does feel like a truly top-notch and professional C-Stand and I'm glad to add it to my ever-growing collection of lighting/modifier stands. (Can you ever have too many?) One last thing I want to add. I believe the Turtle Base to this stand is the same type for all Avenger's C-Stands (unless otherwise specified). The reason I mention this is because the Maximum Footprint Diameter between the longest legs is officially listed as 37.4 inches. And B&H customer service verbally confirmed this saying that whatever the manufacture lists is accurate. Well, as others have pointed out, it is NOT accurate. The Maximum Footprint Diameter for this C-Stand (and all Avenger's C-Stands using this turtle base, which virtually all of them) is actually 31.5 inches. See attached photo. This is between the longest legs to measure an accurate maximum footprint diameter. FYI.

Perfect size to take on location if 7' hight is all you need. Well build quality stand as all the avenger equipment i own.

How tall is the riser? The max working height of ...

How tall is the riser? The max working height of 7.3' seems too tall to be Avenger's 20 inch riser, yet not tall enough to be their 30 inch riser, which has a max height of 8.75'.

According to the manufacturer's website, the maximum height of the Avenger Turtle Base C-Stand (7.3', Black) is 87.4 inches, which is 7.3 ft (222 cm or 2.2 m), and the closed length is 43.31 inches, which is 3.6 ft (110 cm or 1.1 m).
