The Cavision MHE52-R is a viewfinder adapter that allows users to connect Cavision's eyepiece viewfinder converter to 3.5" screens. Once attached users can turn their LCD into a standard video viewfinder with eyepiece.

Will this work with widescreen (16:9) 3.5 LCD's or only traditionallly-shaped (3:2) DSLR screens?

This is a Viewfinder Adapter that must be used with B&H # CAMHE52, which is the Cavision MHE52 Monitor Hood/Viewfinder. The adapter however allows you to use the Viewfinder on a DSLR's Screen.

Cavision says this and the Cavision MHE52 Monitor Hood/Viewfinder B&H # CAMHE52 will work on LCD's that are 3.5 . That is the size of the EVA-1 Monitor. We have not tested this, nor is it listed anywhere so it is just our opinion that this should work as you wish.
