The HD12DAC HD/SD-SDI Digital to Analog Converter from Wohler converts HD/SD-SDI digital video to analog video and also de-embeds audio to AES or analog signals. This unit is compatible with both SD-SDI (SMPTE 272M) or HD-SDI (SMPTE 299M) signals.
More specifically, HD-SDI signals are converted to CVBS (component) or RGB and SD-SDI signals are converted to CVBS (component), RGB, or composite/S-video. Video formats are detected automatically and the various video output options are selectable by setting the external 10-position DIP switch.
Digital to analog conversion is 12-bit with over sampling of 2x for HD-SDI and 16x for SD-SDI. Audio can be de-embedded from the HD/SD-SDI source to either digital AES/EBU or industry standard analog using 24-bit DACs. When de-embedding audio to analog, it is possible to select any (1) audio stereo pair of the (8) pairs available from the (4) audio groups. When de-embedding to digital AES/EBU, the user may select any group of SDI. The converted audio is output from (2) unbalanced BNC connectors.
Other features include graticule, aspect ratio, and the ability to generate audio test tones. LED lights provide a visual indicator of line status. The unit's small footprint makes it easy to use in virtually any environment. A separately available 12V power supply may also be used to provide power.
