Jobu Design SF-NX2 overview

  • 1Description

The Jobu Design NX2 Surefoot Lensplate (4.5") is designed to safely mount and secure most small telephotos, such as a 300 mm F/4, 70-200 F/2.8 or F/4, 400 F/5.6, 300mm F/2.8 and other similar lenses, to your tripod. It features double safety-stops and a double-dovetail profile (for using quick release flash brackets), and it's compatible with all other North American Arca-Swiss-style lensplates. It also has a built-in anti-twist flange to prevent your lens from unscrewing during use. This lensplate is similar to the NX1, but offers an additional 1" of room for longer lens-feet, or for mounting accessories, or for more balance adjustment.

Pick a plate that is 1" longer than the mounting-foot on your lens to allow enough room for a flash bracket with quick release to be added. Most small lenses use 1 mounting screw. Most medium to large lenses use 2 or more mounting screws.

Double-dovetail design enables use of our Quick Release flash brackets (requires 3/4" of lensplate exposed past your lens foot)
Curved hard-stop prevents rotation of lenses
One 1/4"-20 captive screw, two safety-screws, and 5/32" and 3/32" Allen keys are included
Hard-anodized black finish
Compatible with all Arca-Swiss-style clamps

    Jobu Design SF-NX2 reviews

    NX2 Surefoot Lensplate (4.5") is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong and secure I use the mount on a cannon 70-200 f/2.8, which is attached o a cannon 40D w/battery pack. The mount was easy to install and holds camera firmly on the ball head. One thing I would suggest is to balance the camera/lens unit prior to using to save time. I put a pencil on the dining table and set the lensplate on it. When I get the approximate balance point I used small piece of tape to mark the spot. This makes mounting the camera fast.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid solution for Canon 300mm/2.8 + 7D Well made plate that is long enough to balance a Canon 7D with battery grip - and the Canon 300mm f 2.8 IS lens with or without a 1.4X teleconverter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product The lens plate is very well built. I've owned some going from the top of the line Wimberley ones to the cheap Chinese copies. I would put the Surefoot more on the Wimberley side. The cut of the material is clean and it's not a low quality aluminum like the one used on the Chinese copies, that make the lens plate pretty light compared to others. A must have for any telephoto lens that has a foot on it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but could be better Setup - Jobu Jr gimbal - Canon 70-200mm F/2.8 IS II - M-plate Pro with Spider holster pin on camera PROs - Solid construction - Safety NEUTRALs - 2X longer than Canon's lens collar - Good for bigger lenses CONs - 5/32 allen key needed to remove - Interferes with Spider holster pin mounted on M-Plate Pro - No provision to mount pin for Spider or others - Too expensive

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Requirement for big Glass and a Gimbal I bought the Tamrom 150 - 600 for Sony mount for my a7 system and this lens plate is essential for a gimbal system. I use a Jobu Gimbal head for a Manfroto tripod, and you will need one of these plates to match up the two. The longer plate, i.e.. 4.5 allows some range for adjustment with a zoom lens when extended for proper balance on the tripod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Used on my Sigma 150-500 Last year I put my Sigma 150-500 on a 488RC2 ball head to capture BIF. Yikes! This Jobu Gimbal 3 head handles my lens with ease. Once it is balanced it is so easy and smooth to change orientation and it just sticks there. Very sturdy and easy access to the lens and head controls. Glad I put the 4.5 Surefoot Lensplate on my lens as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what the doctor ordered Bought the jobu jr 3 gimbelhead a few weeks ago. Didn't know it wouldn't work on my canon 70-200. So i purchased this foot to make it work. Now i have room to add a flash attachment. Works great. Only issue is the cost alittle high!
