US NightVision L-3 EOS M955 Weapon Sight

Based upon the military-proven AN/PVS-17, the M955 Weapon Sight from L-3 EOS utilizes a high-performance 3rd generation intensifier to deliver outstanding low-light performance.

Employing a red dot reticle - the M955 assists the shooter with rapid target acquisition and an uncluttered sight picture. The electronic system can be activated momentarily via the push-button on the scope's housing, or the cabled remote switch.

L-3 EOS has designed the M955 with a discreet profile and intuitively placed controls. This scope features 2.5x magnification - excellent for MOUT, and mid-range engagements.

There are many variables that affect the distance that one can see with a night vision device; the object's size, ambient weather and lighting conditions, the level of detail needed for recognition, etc. The important factors to consider when evaluating any night vision device are the generation of the intensifier tube along with its specified resolution and s/n ratio. The magnification, clarity, and light transmission performance of the NVD's optics also contribute to its low/no-light performance capabilities.

All NVDs sold by B&H feature bright-light protection systems. However, this does not mean that bright light can/will not damage the device. Exposure to bright light compromises the longevity and performance of image intensifier tubes.
