Rolls MX153 Reviews

Great Little Mixer

I was searching for an ultra compact mixer to handle a few stereo sources. I looked at another Rolls but it was larger and used 1/4 inch RTS connectors and I needed RCA. So far it has worked perfectly. Full disclosure: I am not using therestaurant features like ducking. I would have preferred not to have Bass and Treble controls, but that is an extremely minor point. This one fit my needs perfectly!

Excellent for mobile system.

I have several of these mixers. They are the primary component for my sound system. I have 2 wireless mics and a PC for music running through the mixer. I am a stage performer and love the simplicity and reliability of the Rolls MX153. I just put another system together with a Bose L1 Compact and it is rock-solid. If you need a small and simple mixer, this is the one!

question

will this be good for video recording, i.e. piano music?

This mixer is more of an install type unit with the ducking features for jukebox and/or paging functions. It's limited EQ would preclude any tuning. If you are looking to record directly to a computer an audio interface would be more appropriate. How many inputs you would be recording at the same time would be the deciding factor on which to purchase. Personally I like the Focusrite Scarlett series for value and quality.
