The Sony ICD-UX71 Digital Voice Recorder (Red) is the perfect recording tool for students. This recorder doesn't just store all your notes and lectures, but it doubles as an MP3/WMA player, giving you a sound track when you're on campus. The 1GB built-in flash memory lets you store up to 287 hours of audio (in LP mode) or up to 18 hours of music files. You can also use the UX71 as a USB storage device to transfer and store papers and other data. PC and Mac compatible, the recorder features direct USB connectivity that frees you up from having to carry around a cable while ensuring the ability to edit in either platform.

The ICD-UX71 also features voice operated recording, along with noise cut, and selectable mic sensitivity. If you decide that voice to print editing software is for you, the recorder is compatible with the optional Dragon NaturallySpeaking editing software.
