NEC NP62 DLP XGA 3000 Lumens Projector
Key Features
  • 3000 Lumens
  • 1600:1 Contrast Ratio
  • XGA (1024 x 768) Native Resolution
  • 720p, 1080i High Definition
The NEC NP62 is a small but powerful multimedia projector. How small? Smaller than a letter-sized sheet of paper and less than three inches thick. How powerful? You be the judge.

It can project in enhanced definition (EDTV) and 720p and 1080i high definition (HDTV). It can power itself on when it senses a signal from a connected computer and you can set it to turn itself off after a set interval—great for making those meetings end on schedule.

At its heart is a Texas Instruments DLP chip with BrilliantColor, the world-renown light engine that processes six colors (RGBCMY) at a time instead of the usual three, for unsurpassed vivid and lifelike images.

In fact you could say the NP62 is the strong, silent type. Its fan noise is just 32 dB in Eco mode, which is about the same as a whispered conversation. Running in Eco mode has another important advantage. It extends lamp life by up to 40 percent. That's about 3500 hours.

A projector this small is likely to be pressed into service by road warriors so it's a good thing it boasts an international 100 to 240 volt power supply, a 21 language onscreen display (OSD) and NTSC, NTSC 4.43, PAL, PAL-N, PAL-M, PAL-60 and SECAM video capabilities.

If you need a very powerful but highly portable projector, the NP62 should be on your short list.

3000 Lumens and a 1600:1 Contrast Ratio
That's enough light and contrast to use the projector in a large room or a medium sized room with a fair amount of ambient light.
Built-in Wall Color Correction Presets
You don't always have a nice shiny screen on which to project. The presets provide for adaptive color tone correction to display properly on non-white surfaces.
Automatic Features Save You Time
Automatic startup powers on the projector as soon as it is plugged into a power outlet. Automatic focus instantly provides a sharp detailed image. You don't need to make any adjustments as the projector automatically focuses for you. The projector automatically detects the program source and projects the image with auto input selection. AutoSense intuitively syncs the projector with most computer signals and features one-touch image optimization.
Even Keystone Correction is Automatic
Automatic vertical keystone correction technology instantly projects a square image even when the projector is set up at a steep offset angle to the screen.
Instant Shutdown
Instant shutdown enables the projector to be turned on and off from a wall switch or power strip. Quick startup and instant shut down enables "the show" to start and end according to your schedule.
Enhanced and High Definition (EDTV and HDTV)
This projector supports 480p, 576p, 720p and 1080i so you'll get a great picture from standard sources as well as high definition sources.
Eco-Mode Saves Energy, Lengthens Lamp Life, Quiets Fan Noise
Eco-Mode saves energy by simply using less of it. Lamp life improves a dramatic 40 percent. That's up to 3500 hours. And of course saving you energy saves you money. An added advantage: Fan noise drops from 37 dB to a whisper quiet 32 dB.
