The Astatic 930VPL from CAD is a condenser boundary microphone with a continuously variable polar pattern. It is designed primarily to capture speech and voice for sound-reinforcement and teleconferencing applications in governmental, institutional, religious, and business settings.
The microphone can be positioned on conference tables, desks, stage floors, or lecterns and controlled by the user via the soft-touch programmable membrane switch, giving you push-to-talk and muting functions. Alternately, the mic can also be controlled remotely via a built-in Logic interface.
When mounted on a flat surface, the 930VPL takes advantage of the boundary effect to capture clearer speech with reduced room ambience to bolster intelligibility. The mic is resistant to interference from cell phones, two-way communication devices, and similar units. It comes with a 30' detachable microphone cable that is terminated with a TA4F connector at one end and a 3-pin male XLR connector at the other.
The 930VPL requires 12, 24, or 48V phantom power to operate.
- The continuously variable polar pattern lets you tailor the mic's pickup pattern for the best performance depending on the application or environment. It offers cardioid, omnidirectional, and figure-8 patterns with in-between variations
- The logic I/O functions can be utilized with various automatic mixers, teleconferencing systems, and control systems
- Logic functions allow you to remotely control the LED as well as the membrane-switch activation
- The membrane switch working with or bypassing the microphone’s mute activates the logic output
- Bypassing mute is particularly useful with teleconferencing systems that mute the microphones after the echo-cancellation block
- The exact mode of operation can be set with the dip-switch on the underside of the microphone
- The programmable membrane switch with blue LED status indicator can be programmed for push-to-talk, push-to-mute and on/off operation using the DIP switch on the underside of the microphone
- The integrated 80 Hz, 12 dB/octave high-pass filter removes unwanted low-frequency energy such as rumble, room ambience, and proximity noise to improve speech intelligibility
- Dual-connector rear/bottom cable exit design allows the cable to exit the rear or the underside of the microphone
- Securable controls (polar pattern and mode)
- Keyhole mounting slots
- Shock-absorbing foam pad
- Durable matte-black urethane finish
- Adhesive control cover and pouch are supplied
