This Mount Is Not Only For The Wall, But Also Comes With A Desk Mount Piece If You Need That Option. I Have A Microphone In My Booth And Needed A 2nd Boom Arm, But Specifically For The Wall - This Mount Worked Perfect In Tandem With The HEIL Boom Microphone Arm. It Was Easy To Install And Comes With The Hardware (screws) Needed For Installation. Definitely Can Recommend This If You Have The HEIL Boom Mic Arm - You Can't Go Wrong.

There are no mics that connect directly to the Heil Sound WM-1 Wall Mount. You would first need to use a Heil boom arm with a 1/2'' boom stem and that would have a 5/8'' thread on top for you to be able to screw the compatible shockmount or mic clip for the mic that you want to use.

I'd like to mount this on the side of my desk. Can you tell me the distance from the flush/mounting side to the centre of the hole where the boom arm goes? I need to know if it will clear my dest top's overhang.
