Photoflex StarLite QL Overview

This is a B&H Photoflex Starlite-OctoDome nxt 3' Basic Kit which includes a Starlite QL fixture with 1000-watt bulb, a Photoflex 3' OctoDome nxt softbox, adapter ring, and LiteStand.

The Photoflex Starlite QL is designed for use with a heat-resistant softbox. The included long bulb extends directly into the center of the box, reflecting light evenly off all four sides. This maximizes both output and efficiency. The Starlite is a flicker-free light source, which provides a light quality that is soft, beautiful, and natural looking, yet powerful enough for the demands of video or digital photography.

Although this kit is supplied for use with 120 AC voltage, it can function with 220-240 voltage with the appropriate optional bulb and adapter plug, available separately.

The housing is engineered to allow constant airflow through via channels running along the entire length of the unit, making the fixture cool enough to handle without wearing gloves

All Starlite bulbs are easily interchangeable and are available in 1000, 500, and 250 watts for 110-240 VAC.
Plug adapters are available separately for use with other voltages

    I made a quick test to check the light.the simple is always better for me. No need any technical support and no any technition in the future for repair.with a dimmer i can adjust it-it works exellent. It is light weight,easy to install. I use photoflex boxes and umbrellas around 20 years-they always gave me good results and they are durable. I use it with 1000w warm tungstan bulb-the results and image details as i expected.

    The best lighting equipment I have yet to own. It was easy to set up and practically already done for me. The quality is outstanding. You can feel the material is durable and the light is perfect for what I needed. I use it for audition tapes and photography. I'm glad I chose to return a cheaper one, because this is well worth every penny.

    Are daylight bulbs available for these lights?

    You can use the ALZO CFL Photo Light Bulb (85W, 120V) B&H # AL151255 and the Photoflex Mogul to E-27 Lamp Adapter B&H # PHFVSKT to fit into the Photoflex Starlite.

    Hi, how large is the bag included in the kit? Can it fit in a flight case in one piece?

    The case included with this kit would measure 36 inches long x 10 inches wide. If your flight case is within those dimensions, then the bag will fit.

    You can use a couple sheets of the Rosco # 3202 Full Blue CTB Color Conversion Gel Filter (20 x 24" Sheet), but don't double them up. The softbox for the Photoflex Starlite Medium Digital Kit 1 (120 VAC) is 24 x 32".
