But it's the features they've managed to pack into that light and portable package that makes the PJD5111 so impressive. It uses the renowned Texas Instruments Digital Light Processor Digital Micromirror Device (DLP DMD) with an innovation TI calls BrilliantColor for its display panel, the part that creates the image.
BrilliantColor ensures a crisp, vivid true-to-life image even when there's a lot of ambient light to punch through. As a bonus DLP devices don't require filters that have to be periodically cleaned and replaced
The PJD5111 does a great job with all kinds of images. It can project in NTSC, NTSC 4.43, and PAL types B, D, G, H, I, M, N, and 60. Of course it does several standard and enhanced definition modes and 720p and 1080i high definition. It's also both PC and Macintosh compatible (you may require an adapter for the Mac).
Although you can permanently mount the PJD5111 in a tabletop, ceiling or rear projection configuration, at only 5.1 pounds it makes an excellent portable projector too. If you present on the go you'll find the Direct Off feature particularly useful. When you're done presenting you don't have to wait around for the projector lamp to cool down. You can just unplug the projector and be on your way.
Permanently mounted or on the go the PJD5111's Eco Mode will save you time and money. In Eco Mode lamp jumps from a very respectable 3000 hours up to 4000 hours while the whisper-quiet 30 db fan noise drops to an even lower 26 dB.
If you're looking for a power-packed portable at a palatable price point the PJD5111 may be just the projector you need.
