Impact Quikbox 24x24" Overview

The Impact Quikbox (24 x 24") is a great way to expand the capabilities of your on-camera, shoe-mount flash. The Quikbox lives up to its name by popping open and assembling in a couple of minutes. Just pop open the softbox, add the diffusers and included adapter ring and shoe adapter, mount on a lightstand and you're ready to shoot.

Using a softbox with your shoe-mounted flash will help to diffuse and to evenly distribute the light output of the flash. This will help to reduce those harsh shadows which are often the result of flash photography. Also included is an internal diffuser, to minimize the possibility of hotspots. In addition, the recessed front face helps to control light spill.

The included flash bracket is adjustable vertically, and features a universal shoe which is adjustable horizontally. These adjustments make this unit compatible with virtually all standard flash units (incl. Nikon SB-900 & SB-910), as well as radio receivers. In addition, for those receivers that do not feature a bottom shoe connector, the bracket shoe is removable to expose a male 1/4"-20 screw. There are also three plastic washers included in the shoe assembly, to accommodate receivers of various sizes.

Impact Quikbox 24x24" Reviews

Not too Large to Hand Hold

The Softbox kit has everything I need to get started photographing plants and flowers using the flash. The softbox, at 24x24 inches is pretty big but not too big to hand hold if desired. It collapses down from front to back and becomes nearly flat though the dimensions are the same. The fabric grid and diffuser attach easily and fit well. and the entire thing can be set up in minutes. I thought there was a problem attaching the shoe mount flash bracket and using it with the light stand since the flash was way too high for the back opening. I played with the various pieces and found it was possible to mount and use the flash bracket on the stand. The light stand is pretty sturdy and allows the softbox to be adjusted in any direction or angle. You will definitely want to add some weight to the bottom of the stand because it doesn't take much of a breeze with the softbox open to blow it down. I hope to use this a great deal more as the flower season starts.

You can't go wrong with this soft box as this price point. For a portable easy set up and take down this quickbox will do the job. A must have if you are on a budget and need a bit of light defusing.

Great kit one small flaw

The kit is sturdy and easy to use, it also has a good built quality. If shooting exteiors wind could be an issue since the light stand is very lightweight. Also if you don´t buy an extra piece it is impossible to tilt the softbox as it comes. But overall it´s a amazing piece to add to your equipment, specially if you are on a budget.

I couldn’t be happier with my new Quickbox Softbox. It’s being used with my Godox TT685 O flash and remote XI TTL remote trigger. The supplied instructions were clear and concise. Set-up and take down was relatively easy with one exception, the inner diffuser Is somewhat difficult to attach but once it’s in place it can be left as is. It appears to be well constructed and when considering the retail price it’s an absolute bargain.

question

is it possible to use the quikbox with an Einstein (Paul C Buff) strobe as well as a Speedlight?
Asked by: Polar P.
Unfortunately, this model is limited for use with shoe mount type flashes. However, Lastolite produces the Ezybox II and a speed ring to fit the Einstein strobe. Please see the images below for reference.

question

What is the maximum possible height from the shoe mount to the top of the flash?I have an old powerful Metz CT-3 and would love to use it with this (the flash is tall , and it also has a non-centered mounting hole -about 1 from center of vertical line - discarding the horizontal bottom camera mounting bar for this purpose)Thank you very much!
Asked by: AQUILES
We do not have the exact distance it can slide but it is not made to work with a flash like that. It is designed to work with standard speedlights.

question

Which Speed Ring to use for Impact LiteTrek 4.0 DC Monolight and Norman LH2400 Lamphead?
Asked by: Bill
Unfortunately, this softbox would not be compatible with the Impact Litetrek monolight nor the Norman LH-2400 head. A softbox in a similar size which can work for both is the Impact Luxbanx Medium Rectangular Softbox (24 x 32 ) B&H # IMLBRM. For the Litetrek head, you can use the Phottix Speed Ring for Comet Mount (144 mm) B&H # PH82608 and for the Norman head, you can use the Chimera Speed Ring for Studio Strobe - for Norman LH500 & 2400 B&H # CHSRNLH500 to attach this Impact Luxbanx softbox. Please see the images below for reference.
