The Impact Quikbox (24 x 24") is a great way to expand the capabilities of your on-camera, shoe-mount flash. The Quikbox lives up to its name by popping open and assembling in a couple of minutes. Just pop open the softbox, add the diffusers and included adapter ring and shoe adapter, mount on a lightstand and you're ready to shoot.

Using a softbox with your shoe-mounted flash will help to diffuse and to evenly distribute the light output of the flash. This will help to reduce those harsh shadows which are often the result of flash photography. Also included is an internal diffuser, to minimize the possibility of hotspots. In addition, the recessed front face helps to control light spill.

The included flash bracket is adjustable vertically, and features a universal shoe which is adjustable horizontally. These adjustments make this unit compatible with virtually all standard flash units (incl. Nikon SB-900 & SB-910), as well as radio receivers. In addition, for those receivers that do not feature a bottom shoe connector, the bracket shoe is removable to expose a male 1/4"-20 screw. There are also three plastic washers included in the shoe assembly, to accommodate receivers of various sizes.

Quikbox Softbox with Shoe Mount Flash Bracket (24 x 24") is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 182.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Changed the way I shoot events Simply put: does the job and it is sturdy enough for the price, much better than many brandless copies out there. Fast assemble, honors the name Quikbox. Delivers soft even light, and works pretty well on windy conditions. Unlike umbrellas or reflectors this baby is much easier to handle outdoors. Perfect size and weightless for an assistant to carry all day long, or attached to a simple stand. I used to go on-camera speedlights all the time, off-camera was never a choice, mainly because of the harsh small light source, but now with the quikbox everything changes. Light is much softer on my subjects and the weight of the box is not critical. I think I'll be buying another one just as a backup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing Soft about this Softbox! This SoftBox has lived up to its name by making an immediate IMPACT on my photography! It's Simple yet durable design allows for an easy Set up/ Use and Disassembly. The Diffusion of Light is even and precise. With the Optional Mesh Grid; the unit can achieve new levels of precision of light, by directing light in a 40 degree manner; to limit light spill while maintaining portability. Equipped with its own case, you can pack the entire unit and more. The tipping point for me personally was the incredibly durable materials Impact used in its construction. I'm always after the Best Bang for my Buck and This Impact 24 Softbox that and then some.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice for Headshots It is great when traveling with speed lights. Sets up very fast and produces nicely diffused light. It works very well up close for headshots but I think I would have been better off getting a slightly larger size. I see no problem with construction and quality of materials. Compared to umbrella-type mod's I've been using for location work, I expect this one to last longer. It will not pack into a light stand case so I had to be a little creative to get in worked into my kit, but it is very light and folds flat. I am considering getting a larger one since 24x24 is really only good for headshots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and easy softbox for speedlites.. I primarily bought this softbox for my speedlite because I wanted to control where my light went, I wanted nice soft lighting for portraits and I wanted something portable. I first started shooting off-camera flash with a shoot-through umbrella. I love shooting with an umbrella because it's easy. But I soon found that when I wanted to control where my light was going, I was going to need another modifier, a softbox. What I like about this softbox is that it seems very durable. Popped open, this thing is solid and rigid. I was afraid at first to fold it flat because some of the rods inside didn't feel like they folded correctly to me, but once I figured out what corners to fold it was much easier. Another thing I like is the silver lining in the inside, it sorta gives my flash an extra boost, like it's a tad more powerful than it really is. The bracket that it comes with is very light and made out of durable plastic. One thing to note is that you cannot angle the softbox because the bracket is in a fixed position. That isn't an issue for me because I mount it on a pin at the end of a boom arm which I can point anywhere. I also love that it is meant to be taken places easily. Getting it set up is painless and when it's windy outdoors, this handles it much better than an umbrella. Again, if you own a speedlite, this is a great softbox for it. It provides great soft lighting for portraits. The last shoot I did with this was of two people, 2/3 of the body and this softbox provided more than enough light. Not sure how it would do with lighting full body shots of say 3 or 4 people, but for what I've done so far it is great.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great quick light modifer, poor I've owned this soft box for about two years now. It's fairly quick to set it. It provides a great soft light; however, if I continue to use this product, I will need to purchase my 3rd mounting bracket. The plastic breaks where the adapter ring. My husband broke the first one. Then, I thought maybe he was being rough with it. The last break was all on me. I wasn't being aggressive or rough. It just snapped!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Alternative to the Lastolite Versio To be honest, I was about to buy the Lastolite EZBox. I watched a video by Scott Kelby and he recommended the Impact version. I'm a wedding photographer, and I needed a softbox that was fast to set up and would work with speedlights. This product fit the bill perfectly, and I saved money by ordering the Impact over the other brand. The quality seems very good. I've used it on two photo shoots, and it pops open pretty easily. The bracket works well, although you'll need an additional swivel as the bracket does not move up or down to point the box at an angle. Overall this seems like a very well designed product that does what it is supposed to, at a good price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice This works well as described. It is great for a speedlite and working in the field. The only part of this product that I didn't realize is that it does not have an angle adjustment. It sets on a normal light stand at a right angle. No angle adjustment on it. If you want it higher than your subject and angle it down... not going to happen. For an angle you are going to have to use a boom arm or another angle piece. It does offer nice soft light and works well. Good performing product and very portable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Price, Decent Light, Flawed Details What I like: Decent quality light if you can get the outer diffuser to fit properly. Bracket is just large enough to use a Pocket Wizards Flex TT5 with a full size Speedlite mounted on top like the Canon 580 EX II. (see photo) Quality carrying case, in fact the case feels like it's better quality than the soft box itself. What I don't like: The inner diffusion screen has a terrible hook system that can take a bit to attach. The outer diffusion screen doesn't completely fit leading to light leak from the corners or wherever you can't get complete coverage from it. I basically had to stretch mine to get it to almost fit, luckily I didn't rip it. (see photo) The box itself fits quite loosely on the mounting bracket, won't take much at all to knock it off. Still solid enough for outdoor use with minimal wind though. The mounting bracket does not tilt so if you need to angle the box at all you'll need another bracket. Summary: Overall it's not a bad purchase for the money but they need to pay more attention to the little details of this product. It's definitely a smarter buy than the Lastolite equivalent as I can't find hardly any difference between the two. A better outer diffuser and the inclusion of a tilting bracket and this would have been a four star product.
