D-Link DWL-7700AP Overview

The DWL-7700AP AirPremier Wireless AG Outdoor Access Point and Bridge from D-Link is a wireless access point and bridge, with a watertight housing and Power over Ethernet support, making it suitable for installation outdoors. When configured as an Access Point, the device is perfect for expanding network Wi-Fi coverage. It can also be configured as a bridge, a device which connects two discrete networks into one.

The device features simultaneous operation on 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies, allowing you to configure the device to act as a bridge on one band and access point on the other, if you so desire. Of course, both bands can be configured as bridges or access points as well.

It features removable antennas, allowing you to replace them with high-gain versions if your coverage needs expand. Network administrators will be able to configure the device via SNMPv3 or web-based management utilities.

Simultaneous dual-band operation allows the device to operate on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands at the same time
Configure as an Access Point to add Wi-Fi coverage to an existing network
Configure as a Bridge to connect two Wi-Fi networks into one
Configure as a Wireless Distribution System, allowing multiple access points to create a wireless network, without the need for a wired backbone to link them
Watertight design, suitable for installation outdoors and in
Integrated 802.3af Power over Ethernet port allows the device to receiver power via standard Ethernet cable when connected to a switch that supports PoE delivery, allowing you to install it in areas where no electricity is available
Supports standard wireless security protocols, including WEP, WPA, WPA2, and MAC address filtering
Manage via D-View SNMPv3, D-Link AP Manager II, or a web-based configuration utility
