This is a Photoflex X-Small LiteDome Kit 1. It is lightweight and portable. The included mounting hardware enables use of the 12 x 16" softbox with most shoe-mount flashes (except Sony-Minolta flashes). Add the optional Shoe Mount Multiclamp (AC-BSWCP) to provide tilt capability when using this kit with your light stand.

The Photoflex X-Small LiteDome Q39 Softbox with white interior is suitable for use with flash only. With fabric not intended for the heat of a continuous light, the X-Small LiteDome with white interior is ideal for work in small spaces when only slight softening of your flash is desired.

Because of its small size, light quality will be more spectral with a faster gradation from highlight to shadow areas -- when you back it off from your subject.

Quick to set up with the included Basic Speed RIng
This softbox will provide very soft lighting if it is used close to small subjects

LiteDome Kit 1 For Shoe Mount Flashes - X-Small (12x16") is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 36.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Repeat purchase This is the second LiteDome I have bought for my flashes. I am using this one as a fill light to my main light when doing location T&I's. Hooked up to 580EXII's and a wireless triggering system, this combo cannot be beat for portability. The unit is small enough that I can transport two units on trips completely assembled and in my trunk, pull them out and be setup in less than 5 minutes to start taking quality pictures. The only thing you have to watch out for is that the screw connecting the softbox to the flash bracket has a tendancy to come loose. I am now in the habit of checking this connection several times - before, during and after transport - to make sure I don't loose it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from LiteDome Softbox I use this small softbox for my Canon speedlite and like it for the most part. The softbox is well built and has a nice quality to the light. Downside is the mounting gear is a little awkward in that I have to mount my Pocket Wizard upside down or else it blocks the back of the flash. Additionally, the locking swivel lever on the bracket that allows you to attach it all to a stand fell apart the first time I used it. It's spring loaded but the plastic cover over the spring popped off repeatedly and I had to glue it on. Not impressed w/that. They need to improve the design and quality of the mounting hardware. The box itself works well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Portable Softbox Pros: Very well designed. Quick and easy to put together. Diffuses the strobe light very effectively. Compact design when folded and very light and portable. Cons: The main body material feels a little flimsy. I haven't used it enough to tell how durable it actually is, but I would of liked to of had it a little thicker even if there was extra weight. Summary, Overall I found this to be the best product in it's class to suite my needs. Portable, easy to assembled, well designed and compact when folded. Four stars. I would given it five if it wasn't for the very thin material.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great compact product This is a compact high qualtiy soft box for your SLR speedlight. Really liked how easy it was to set-up and break back down. It even comes with a bag to hold everything. I initially used it on a bracket with a cord. The only issue I had with it on a camera bracket was the weight. Not that is was too heavy, but it is definetly heavier and more bulky that a light diffuser like the Gary Fong product. I think the quality of light was much better with this product than a diffuser. I also really liked using it on a light stand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Location Light-weight, quick setup (it's small enough that I doubt I'll ever tear it down). Shooting a Metz flash through it as key, with fill (SB-800 through small Lumiquest) on camera bracket. Used fairly closely, does a respectful job of diffusing. Flash bracket is a bit cheesy, and I had to bend it a bit to get the flash to sit up straight--but hey, I think it'll stand the test of time, and I do like the light-weight part.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Plan to buy at least one more Bought the kit just in time to shoot a major convention. Ceilings in the hall were too high for bounce, but the light box provided a very effective substitute. On the down side it was a bit difficult to set up and I don't particularly like the mechanism for attaching the flash (clamp has potential to break flash foot). The bracket that came with mine is slightly bent and a bit cheesy in build, but, for the price, it was pretty functional.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth the $$$ I really like this little unit. I'm using it as a hair light in a small studio and it works very well. It's easy to put together. I haven't taken it apart yet, but I'm sure that's easy enough as well. The only thing I wished I had done differently was to buy the swivel bracket as well. I had planned on using it on a tripod (which would have worked great, btw) but the tripod doesn't extend tall enough for a hair light. Oops! :-)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Litedome XS works well I've been looking for a small lightbox for tight areas where an umbrella spills too much light. I had a previous LDXS, and this one is much improved by the addition of the shoe mount bracket. When possible, I take it already put together, as this does take a couple of minutes. Seems to work well for 1 or 2 people, and is much better in tight spaces than an umbrella. As the strobe is outside the box, it still works with Nikon remote control.
