The American Dynamics AXIS 216FD Dome Network Camera is suitable for video surveillance in exposed or vandalism-prone indoor environments. With a discreet, compact design the camera is ideal for use in retail stores, schools, prisons, banks and offices. It has a lightweight, tamper-resistant casing consisting of a polycarbonate base and Polycarbonate transparent cover.
Easy to install, the 216FD camera can be quickly mounted on a wall or a hard or drop ceiling. The camera angle can be adjusted to pan 360°, tilt 170°, and rotate 340° to give you the best possible coverage of the surveillance area.
The camera provides simultaneous Motion JPEG and MPEG-4 video streams, resulting in optimized image quality and bandwidth efficiency. Image-capturing at up to 30 frames per second in full VGA resolution further enhances image clarity. The Progressive Scan technology and advanced image processing ensure that the 216FD provides clear images even in low-light conditions.
A two-way audio system with built-in microphone allows the remote users to listen and communicate with visitors or intruders. The 216FD is compatible with external microphone input or line input. It can also play audio received from other clients via a connected speaker.
Power to the camera is supplied by Power over Ethernet technology through the network itself. This reduces cable requirements as there is no need for power outlets at the camera location and thus saves installation costs. The 216FD uses the Ethernet cable for video as well and can display external video sources (other Axis network cameras and video servers) directly on the Live View page.
With multi-window motion detection, audio detection and active tampering alarm the 216FD Network Camera allows for powerful event management. Pre-image and post-image buffering, just before and after an alarm, secures the images.
The 216FD Network Camera has multi-level password protection, IP address filtering, and HTTPS encryption to maintain network security It can be operated in a temperature of between 32 and 122ºF (0 and 50ºC).
