The AXIS 241Q Video Server from Axis Communications is suitable for surveillance and remote monitoring applications. The video server converts analog video signals from your CCTV system into IP video streams. The servers can control four analog cameras, and provide support for multiple PTZ cameras. The video server has effective event management tools like the event triggering mechanism and advanced network securities like HTTPS encryption, multiple access level, and IP address filtering.
Transmission System
The video server uses IP protocols, providing the flexibility of an IP camera; it converts the analog video signals into IP video streams and transmits the same over IP networks. This helps in transmission of digital video over IP networks, without actually using an IP camera.
Camera and Joystick Support
The server supports 4 analog cameras simultaneously. The video server can handle pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) and PTZ dome cameras. The server also supports joysticks compatible with the Windows Operating system.
Video Quality
The video is de-interlaced and thus is of high quality; a de-interlace filter removes artifacts from videos. The video server offers a resolution up to 704x576.
Event Management Tools
Simultaneous Motion JPEG and MPEG-4
Simultaneous Motion JPEG and MPEG-4 streams help make optimum use of the available bandwidth for the best possible image quality.
Motion Detection
The motion detection feature triggers an alarm if motion is detected. Immediately following an alarm, the alarm images can be uploaded or external devices such as lights can be activated if they are connected to the server.
PTZ Control over Network
Pan/Tilt/Zoom cameras can be handled over the network through the video server's serial ports.
Sophisticated Network Security
HTTPS Encryption
HTTPS encryption enhances security over a network.
Multiple Level Access
Multiple access levels provide selective access rights to users on the network. Usually, the administrator has the highest privilege level.
IP Filtering
IP address filtering for protection against spoofed IP address.
Port Authentication
The server uses the IEEE 802.1X network access standard for port based authentication of devices like laptops.
Protocol Support and (API) Application Program Interface
Internet Protocol Support
The server supports Internet Protocols IPv4 and IPv6.
API (Application Program Interface)
The server supports open APIs like AXIS VAPIX for smooth integration with other systems and the AXIS Media Control SDK for strengthening the security of the Axis video server.
