The Novoflex Suction Cup With Ball Head is designed for mounting a camera over any flat plane surface, like a sheet of glass. The suction cup attaches directly and securely to the surface. The ball head is mounted on the suction cup's 1/4" thread screw, and a camera (up to 6.6 lbs (3 kg) in weight) can be mounted on the ball head, giving you maximum flexibility in placing and aiming the camera.
Bought this item in order to attach a mirroless or DSLR size camera to the inner windshield. I feel the load may be on the limit to what it can stand, making me nervous on bumpy roads but, so far so good...
I used this to attach a Panasonic Lumix GH5 to a vertical surface in order to capture a specific dolly shot. It held well and the suction felt strong enough to negate any worry about the camera falling off. I also used this to attach a Genray LED Torpedo light to a car hood during a driving shot. I drove up and down my street many times for many takes and the suction cup held the light strongly to the hood. I purchased three of these.
