Attach directly to foot of any shoe-mount flash for direct connection or connect a standard PC cord to the side mounted PC terminal. The PC sync port on the side appears to be a male post rather than a female socket. I needed to use this with a non hotshoe strobe so I have to use this via cable between the strobe and this optical sensor. All the cables I have and found online are pc male. Will they plug into this optical trigger?
The PC sync terminal on the side of the Wein HS Hot Shoe Slave is a female sync terminal with an opening in the center for the post of a PC male sync cable.

I am curious what this means PC terminal for use with non-shoe flash units. What is a PC terminal? Can i hook this onto my Nikon D5100 Shoe mount for use with off camera flashes?
A "PC" terminal - or connector - is a very, very old style small push-on coaxial connector for a flash trigger cord. Been around for decades and IIRC, from before WWII and was used before the "hot" shoe with a center contact was created. Still in use for triggering studio lights with a cord. If you look a the side of this trigger, you'll see a small cylindrical protrusion. This is the PC terminal for use with PC cords.

Will it work on Godox wireless trigger to fire multiple flashes with only one of this devices?
No, the Wein HS Hot Shoe Slave is not compatible with digital TTL systems, like the Godox wireless triggers.

does this work with Nikon SB600?
I own both an SB600 and this optical slave. It will not work with the SB600. I've read articles that suggest the voltage on the SB600 isn't high enough. I'm no expert I don't know. However, I can say with certainty that this optical slave will not trigger the SB600. I use mine to trigger an old Sunpak 383 and it works fine with that flash.

Has anyone gotten this to fire properly in response to a non-manual flash?I have a Canon 550ex on-camera, trying to trigger some old manual Minolta flashes. The two Minoltas with wein peanuts work fine with Canon flash on TTL, but the wein hs doesn't work (fires on first flash? Or maybe in response to the other slaves). If I set Canon flash to manual, the peanuts don't fire at all but the HS does....
I read your post 3 times but it's still not clear to me the issue. I use these in the field all the time triggering Vivitar 285's via the slave and/or plugging the Wein into a PocketWizard. They are bullet-proof for my needs doing commercial automotive work.
