The Sony HKSR-5103 Advanced Processor Board is an optional accessory board for the SRW-5100 player. When installed, it offers the ability to play back HDCAM SR formats with uncompressed 4:4:4 full bandwidth RGB signals. Aside from its compatibility with 1080/60p, 1080/50p, and 720p, this board enables play back of HDCAM SR formats recorded in 880Mbps. This board intrinsically meets the high demands of high profile video operations often required by HDCAM/HDCAM SR studios, compositing suites, and digital mobile units.
Provides 4:4:4 RGB playback capability in HDCAM SR format; 4:4:4 recording is competitive with 2K data for high end archiving and digital intermediate workflows
4:4:4 color resolution is ideal for compositing purposes such as chroma keying, due to the massive amount of color information provided through its data stream
An increased level of latitude is also a benefit to higher color resolution; this translates into footage that is a lot easier to color correct during post sessions
