The black protector for the 200-500 Tamron lens fits very well. It requires some effort to emplace, particularly the segment on the lens hood. It is not waterproof- coming in several separate sections. The lens undergoes considerable extension as the focal length changes so the part covering the extension is snap fastened for quick installation and removal. In other words- this cover is only to protect against bumps and is not weatherproof for the whole lens. As a protector it does a good job and is a worthwhile investment.

Are these covers available for other lens? e.g.. Minolta 600mm f4 lens.?Dave

LensCoat does make lens covers for other lenses besides the Tamron 200-500mm, though I havent found one for the Minolta 600mm f/4. They will make custom covers for lenses, which you might contact them about. Otherwise, if you have other lenses you want to look into covers for, you could send us an email with a list of those lenses, and we could let you know what is available.
