The single S2X - 300W 7.5" Two-Way Active Near-Field Monitor by Adam Professional Audio is offered as an accurate reference-quality speaker intended for small and medium-sized control rooms. With 300W of amplification housed in a compact cabinet, this monitor is capable of producing high volume levels in contrast to its size.
Hand-made in Germany and featuring the company's proprietary X-ART technology, the 2" ribbon tweeter is highly efficient at high SPLs and delivers precise transient response with a wide frequency response up to 50 kHz. It is powered by a 50W A/B amplifier with ultra-low distortion, specially designed to match the capabilities of the X-ART tweeter.
The 7.5" HexaCone woofer features a honeycomb Nomex structure and a Kevlar coating built to resist deformation. It is driven by a magnet system with a 2" voice coil that creates maximum linear excursion and delivers high dynamics with no self-resonance in the audible range. The woofer is powered by a highly efficient (> 90%) 250W PWM amplifier designed to be light and compact.
A variety of control options are available for adjusting the monitor's performance to the room acoustics. The front panel houses coarse & fine input-sensitivity controls, a low-frequency equalizer, a low-shelf filter, a tweeter-gain control, and a high-shelf filter for fine-tuning to your listening preferences. It also features a Power On / Standby switch and an LED to alert you in case of an overload – the protective circuit will prevent speaker damage.
The S2X's cabinet is built with rounded edges and a durable plastic coating to provide extra protection for everyday use in the studio.
