I didn't realize it wasn't carpeted - slides way too much

Anything you put on this deck needs to be temporary. If you bump into it, it might slide off. Even though its textured, it's very slippery. This was a terrible redesign decision - I truly do not understand the logic here.

This shelf will not let you down. I wish the top shelf had the same construction and surface, but I wish it had a lip for real security.,

No, the tabs won't go under the frame that way. However, if they made it differently it would be possible.

They need to be removed to fold up, I have used these carts for years, great carts, I only use these solid decks when I put a pair of speakers on them or something that makes the cart tipsy.
