THX Select2 Plus Certified
THX Select2 Plus specifications are designed to address the growing needs of the newest generation of home entertainment enthusiasts with smaller home theater environments. THX Select2 receivers also feature proprietary THX technologies, which accurately translate movie soundtracks for home theater playback. HDMI (Ver. 1.3a) x5 Switching with 1080p Faroudja DCDi Upscaling
This unit features (5) HDMI (Ver. 1.3a) 1080p Deep Color inputs, and its 1080p HD upconversion is achieved with a powerful Faroudja DCDi Cinema processing chip. This technology drastically reduces video noise without sacrificing image quality and sharpness. 7.2-Channel Digital Audio Decoding
It uses specific Dolby Digital/DTS codecs and Cinema DSP Digital to reproduce an enveloping surround-sound experience. Audyssey DSX 3D

Burr-Brown 24-Bit Audio Processing
Burr-Brown 196KHz/24-bit digital-to-analog converters are the backbone to the receiver's exceptional multi-channel audio conversion. By executing an accurate sound-field reproduction and reducing analog noise in the signal path, it's capable of reproducing an enveloping audio signal that is unsurpassed. The dynamic range of this receiver is so well balanced and matched that the center, front and rear channels blend seamlessly.
Music Optimizer Technology
Onkyo's Music Optimizer technology is designed to improve the quality of compressed audio signals such as MP3 and AAC files. Compressed music loses a substantial amount of bit information at higher frequencies, so the Music Optimizer technology works to overcome this limitation and improve audio quality. This function only works with PCM digital audio input signals with a sampling rate below 48KHz and analog audio input signals.
RIHD (Remote Interactivity Over HDMI)
RIHD allows CEC-compatible components or RIHD-compatible components connected via HDMI to be controlled via the AV receiver and offers at least (3) key benefits: 1) A standby mode, 2) volume control, and 3) a direct change function.
