The Epson EX51 Professional Multimedia Projector is a very affordable projector with some very sophisticated features. At 2500 lumens and a 2000:1 contrast ratio it's got plenty of projection power for large rooms that are less than theater-dark.
It's got the projection flexibility you'd expect in a more expensive projector. From its native resolution of XGA (1024 x 768) it can resize PC and Macintosh resolutions both lower and higher. It can project in NTSC, NTSC 4.43, PAL, PAL-M, PAL-N, PAL60 and SECAM and it can also project in 720p and 1080i high definition. What's more, it's got an HDMI input so your high definition images can stay in digital form from their source into the EX51B. To complete the picture it's got a 100-240VAC power supply
Two USB ports add valuable convenience features. A Type B USB 2.0 port allows you to attach the included USB cable to your PC or digital camera for JPEG slideshows. You can also use the Type A USB 2.0 port for JPEG slideshows from a USB thumbdrive so you won't have to lug your computer with you.
The EX51's has features to help keep it secure. Password protection, your personalized startup logo and button lock help prevent unauthorized use while a cable attachment (cable not included) and a slot for an optional Kensington lock maintain physical security.
The energy-efficient E-TORL lamp helps keep down total cost of ownership. It's about 20 percent more efficient than most projector lamps right out of the box. Use it in ECO mode and projector total energy usage drops 20 percent and lamp life extends from about 4000 hours to 5000 hours. And fan noise drops from 37 dB to 29 dB.
The EX51B can be permanently mounted in front, ceiling and rear projection setups. But if you don't mount it permanently you'll appreciate a final touch included in the package: the EX51B comes with its own carrying case.
