The 1.5 TB S2VR Duo External Hard Drive Array from CalDigit delivers a fail-safe storage solution. As configured, the array offers an impressive 1.5 TB of storage spread across two 750 GB drives, both of which are hot swappable. A PCI-X eSATA controller card and cables are included.
The array can be configured in several configurations, including RAID 0 for maximum performance, RAID 1 for data mirroring or as JBOD allowing you to access each hard drive as a separate volume. The SATA II connection delivers sustained data transfer rates of up to 140 MB/sec. These features and more make the array a great solution for your large data storage needs.
SATA 3 Gb/s Connection
The SATA 3 Gb/s connection delivers incredible data throughput, giving you enough bandwidth to handle high-definition video. A PCI-X controller card is included to allow you to add an eSATA 3 Gb/s connection to your computer if it doesn't already have one.
RAID Flexibility
The array can be configured as a RAID 0, which delivers maximum performance or as RAID 1 for data mirroring, protecting your data in case of a drive failure. You also have the option of configuring the array in a JBOD format, which lets you access each physical drive individually. This gives you extreme flexibility in how you configure your array, ensuring that it meets your specific needs.
1.5 TB Capacity
1.5 TB of capacity allows for storage of approximately 112.5 hours of uncompressed DV digital video, the equivalent of 319 4.7 GB DVD-Video discs, or up to 375,000 MP3 files.
Video Playback
The array delivers enough throughput to play back multiple streams of 8- or 10-bit uncompressed video simultaneously in real time. It can also play back DVCPRO HD, HDV or DV video in real time.
Monitoring Support
The array has built-in support for monitoring. You can configure it to send you an e-mail in the event of a fan failure, drive failure or a temperature spike. You can also password protect the drive to prevent unauthorized access to your notification settings.
