Pyle Pro PTA1000 Reviews

Worked two weeks

The unit I received worked for about two weeks. After that... nothing. Under the warranty, I would have to pay for shipping to/from the factory. I decided to use that money to buy a different amp instead. (The tech support people were nice.)

Nice Amp for Monitor Speakers

I bought the PTA1000 for a house of worship to use to drive their wedge monitors. Bluetooth option is cool, and overall very satisfied with the amp's performance. Reason for only four stars is there is a major problem with the rack mount holes. They don't fit 1.75 racks. I had to re-drill them. Also the handles are mounted so that the screws interfere with the rack. I had to re-drill those too. I guess the boys in China are unfamiliar with racks and how they work.

Newer version has one quiet fan

Each channel is a classic AB power amplifier powered by a 33-0-33 toroidal transformer so the max output per channel is 65Wrms and 130Wpeak The newer version has one quiet cooling fan and signal level LED displays. Plenty of volume when used with efficient speakers in a small community hall etc...

Noisy.

Definitely not the most quiet when not playing music. I would spend more money next time and get one of better quality. Also, it's not rack mountable. The pre-drilled holes are in the wrong spot and it didn't come with any way to mount the back of the unit. I spoke to customer service who sent me over to Pyle customer service, who have neglected to get back to me.

makes a great diff in the sound in the room.

Would this amp work with PVI 10 (Peavey) speakers ...

Would this amp work with PVI 10 (Peavey) speakers (100 watts) along a Pioneer ddj controller? If is does...What accessories do I need in order to connect everything?
Asked by: Yael
The Peavey PVI 10 speakers handle 100W peak power (not constant power) and 50W program power, so they handle less power than the amplifier puts out. You would need to be very careful to avoid damaging the speakers with too much power from the amp and keep the volume level low or use speakers that can handle more power like Mackie C200 Passive 10" 2-Way Loudspeaker (B&H # MAC200). The Peavey speakers have 1/4" inputs and the Pyle amp has SpeakOn output connectors so you could use cables like the Hosa Technology SKT-200 Series Speakon to 1/4" Male Phone Speaker Cable (12 Gauge) - 50' (B&H # HOSKT250Q). Please contact us if you would like further assistance with your setup. You may be better off using powered speakers instead of the amp and passive speakers.

Can you connect this to home audio receiver?

Can you connect this to home audio receiver?
Asked by: Andy
Not from the speaker outputs on the home audio receiver. Only if it has pre-outs available for that. A lot of models only have pre-outs for use with powered subwoofers.

question

Is the 250W/Channel @ 8 Ohms rating RMS watts, or some peak watt rating? Please don't guess, I'd like to know for sure.
Asked by: James
I suspect that the true RMS power rating at 8 ohms is closer to 80 watts. But the manufacturer has not provided or published this specification.

It works with 4 and 8 ohm. What about 6 ohm?
Asked by: Troy
Of course the Pyle Pro PTA Amplifier will work with 6 ohm speakers, and power output rating would be midway between the 4 ohm and 8 ohm ratings, or about 2x375 Watts. In general, any speaker load of 4 ohms or more is OK.
