Small Camera Bag (Black with Croc Trim) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 34.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits a lot for being called small This is a great camera bag for someone who doesn't want a masculine, run-of-the mill bag or backpack. The bag is genuine leather, and it fits a lot of items, even though it's the small version. I can fit my D300 with 18-200 mm lens attached, plus me 50mm 1.4, 105mm 2.8, battery charger, extra batteries, 3 different ND filters, cleaning supplies, extra batteries and cards. The exterior pockets are perfect for the small extras (batteries, flash cards, etc), while the interior is easy to separate with the dividers provided. Teh small change purse is perfect for keeping credit cards, driver's license and some extra cash.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this bag! :) This bag is great! It holds my D600 & 2 lenses (85mm & 24-120mm). I also have room for my filters and my extra batter/charger. The think I like best about it is that it isn't obvious that you're carrying a camera bag. When I use my Lowepro bag I always feel like I am advertising that I'm carrying thousands of dollars of camera equipment. This just looks like a large purse. The included shoulder strap is a must if you carry it for long periods of time. I'm already looking for one just a little larger that will hold both my camera bodies. You won't be disappointed in this bag!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor Construction; Odd polka dots inside I purchased this bag for my girlfriend and assistant. Considering the price/size ratio I expected to receive a top-notch quality bag. Unfortunately this didn't happen. On our very first assignment one of the silver balls/rivets which holds the strap down popped right off. Now there's an ugly (and sharp!) silver rod sticking out of the front face of the bag. Didn't even get a full day out of it. Should have just went with Tamrac as I usually do. It does indeed look nice, but it's just not robust. Oh yeah, the big polka dots inside are just weird. -Darren Scala, Ontario

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A professional bag I do event photography, most of which is done with one or two lenses and a tripod. These can be very formal events - I had been looking for a professional, stylish bag to carry my equipment in and this Jill-E Small bag is perfect. In it I can carry my camera body and up to three lenses, my flash unit, plenty of batteries and small accessories. The leather and stiching is of good quality. It is a deep, rich, red that looks really sharp with the dark brown contrasting trim. Note that you need to go to the Jill-E site to see what the bag looks like - the more recent version does not have the solid croc trim straps - they are red with a center stripe of the crock (more sophisticated styling in my opinion). The attachable zippered wallet is made of the canvas lining material with red leather corners (not solid leather) and the long shoulder strap is simple nylon webbing (ugh - the one thing I count it down on - older models had a leather croc strap). Note: I waxed the main zippers to make them move easier. I really debated between the red and the bone - now that I have received it, I may order it in bone as well!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nothing wrong with the bag, just me I had been looking at the medium size of this bag. I decided it was a bit too big, so I ordered the small size. It's still very big, very boxy. Same length and only one inch diffent in height and depth than the medium size. This is my fault. I didn't really look at the dimensions of the small bag. I assumed each of the measurements would be smaller. It's very well built, very attractive, nice leather and would hold a ton of equipment. It does have a polka dotted interior which is not shown in the pictures. I had to send it back and search for something a bit smaller.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Construction, and Very Fashionable The construction on this bag is awesome - solid stitching and nice heavy leather. Everything is high quality. Of course, this does make the bag a bit hefty for carrying around all day, but your gear will be well protected. I'm carrying a D700 body with a fixed 105mm, a 50mm, a 28mm, and a flash (and battery charger) all in the main compartment. I do wish the bag where a tad wider as the camera is loaded sideways which works nice because I simply grab the grip and pull it out, but the option to have it sit flat would be nice (it's about 0.5 shy - you can do it without padding, but wht's the point?). Also nice that you can completely customize the layout with all the little dividers. And when carrying the bag, I've received compliments on my purse without people knowing it was a camera bag, so the Jill-E idea of not screaming camera bag works.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lots to like only a few disappointments I like that it doesn't look like a typical nylon camera bag--a little more professional looking for my needs. The inside is a tan color (no dots) the leather is a stiff leather with a sort of shiny finish. I would have liked just a little bit softer finish (more real leather looking instead of fake leather looking--had to double to check to make sure that it WAS real leather, that's how stiff and shiny it is and it IS real leather, btw). The dividers are movable and it fits my Nikon D600 with a 24-120mm lens attached and my 910 flash. I could probably fit another small lens in as well. This might seem a little picky but I would have liked to know this before purchasing-in the picture the trim that runs down the middle of the straps is a wide piece but the one I received has a narrow piece. I really had wanted the wider one but the bag is still very nice looking even with the narrower trim.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Stylish but minimal padding I love the look of this bag, primarily why I bought it. I also needed a small bag to carry a DSLR and 2 lenses on walkabouts. The bag is highly admired by those who see it. However, if you carry heavy glass (I do), the bag isn't well-padded enough. (A problem with all jill-e bags except jack; I have owned 5 and had to send back 2). I dropped this bag from lap height getting out of a cab (I thought the strap was over my shoulder and it wasn't); bag went thud very heavily. When I got home and removed the lenses, both filters on both lenses had been completely smashed into the threads of the lenses, and both filters smashed, even with lens caps on. Of course, it's great that I only smashed two $90 filters instead of two +$1300 lenses, but then again, a fall from not much more than 2 feet off the ground causing that much damage also smashes a lot of confidence in the security of the bag. Course, I chalked that incident up to my mistake. Until it happened again with a larger jill-e bag (the medium size), again, falling about 18in this time (not my fault; the strap broke clean off), and again two filters on two lenses getting severely smashed and embedded in the threads. I sent that bag back, but kept this one. So to sum up, very attractive bag, but if you're carrying pro (heavy) equipment, don't count on the padding to save your gear if you drop the bag more than a few inches.
