Arca-Type Quick Release Plate for Canon 5D MkII is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works fine, a bit cheaper than Kirk/RRS Acratech designed this differently from other plate manufacturer such as Kirk. They are minimalist, the plate does not have slot for hand strap, does not have hole to attach to regular head (eg. attaching to non clamp head with the plate already attached to camera), and use non capture screw. All for good reasons, slot would make it bigger, additional hole would make it thicker, like the Kirk plate, and non capture screw so they don't have to create a groove on the screw which might compromise strength. This plate is a good 2-3 mm thinner than the comparable Kirk plate. Seems lighter too, but can't verify this. The finish is matte instead of glossy (glossy looks better IMHO) and it attached fine to either Markins or Kirk clamp that I use. Once installed it does not twist. It's about 30% cheaper than Kirk plate and for me it's perfect.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fits and works as expected, but... Fits the 5DMII just fine and works well with the Arca Swiss quick release system, but does not have a female threaded hole for use with tripods without a quick release head. A bit of a hassel to remove the plate and then reattach when switching between different tripod heads. The hassel factor goes up as there is no keeper on the mounting screw (as with most plates) so the screw falls off the plate when not attached. If the plate will be attached to the camera and not removed then there is no problem with how the plate performs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple, light Fits well and is light. As others have noted, the screw falls out, and why did they make it a hex bolt? (I'm more likely to have a quarter in my pocket than an allen key out in the field). Their reasoning for the bolt design seems a bit odd - why make the bolt stronger, when excessive torque is likely to damage the camera fitting long before it breaks the bolt. Given all that, still like it and works great with an Acratech head.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wrong way I got it for the Canon 5DII but i does not fit perfectly and will move slightly. Therefor is not great for vertical photos!!! It also fit to my Giottos head the wrong way so I can not use the bubble as was planed for vertical shots.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Be aware Great product but when no sliding stops so can slide out of mounting bracket if you don't take care. I will have to modify this unit to avoid camera dropping to the floor. That is when use with a Benro bracket, don't know if this statement applies when using with other manufacturers brackets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect, if pricey You really need a camera-specific plate, and this one is very nice. It would be nicer if it was half the price, but it's still worth it. Fits perfectly, rock solid, is well made and well finished right here in the USA, strong, built to last. A perfecly functional piece of gear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Camera base quick release for Acratech This is a very impressive product. It fits both the camera base and the ball head perfectly. It comes with instructions and an Allen Wrench for attaching it to the camera base.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Problems! Yep, it works with my camera (Canon 5D Mark II ). No problems here. Easy to attach and easy to use.
