Streamline your digital recording setup with the Blue Microphones Snowball, a USB microphone designed for podcasters, streamers, and online content creators. The mic offers two polar patterns for different kinds of content. The cardioid polar pattern naturally minimizes room noise by focusing its audio capture on whatever is in front of the mic, keeping audio pickup of the back and sides of the capsule to a minimum. This is great for content creators who don't have fancy room treatment. Use the omnidirectional pattern, however, if you and a friend will be using the mic simultaneously. The Snowball comes with its own stand and USB cable, providing a driverless operation to ensure connectivity with your device right out of the gate—you won't need to download any additional software to have your computer recognize this microphone.

For Your Voice
Whether you're solo podcasting, streaming game-play, or just need to VoIP with people over Skype, Zoom, or Discord, the Snowball will offer a clear and present sound so that your voice will be heard.
Fits Your Needs
This mic is perfect for recording directly to computers, be they mac or windows systems. With the right, separately available adapters, you can also record with Android and iOS devices.
Multiple Pickup Patterns
The mic gives you the choice of cardioid or omnidirectional pickup patterns. Cardioid is great for untreated rooms, as it minimizes audio pickup behind and to the sides of the capsule. In omni, the mic will pick up sound from all sides, making it the better choice to pick up more than one person at a time.
Get Loud
If you're using the mic alone, and you're a loud person, you're in luck: there's a cardioid -10 dB pad mode, which attenuates the output of the mic by 10 dB. This means you can be louder without incurring horrible-sounding distortion.
Quality Digital Capture
The mic records audio at 16-bit / 44 kHz, giving you the CD-standard in digital quality for a great sound.
Simple to Set Up
Just mount the Snowball on the included metal stand, plug the mic into your computer's USB port with the included cable, select it as a device in your recording or VoIP software, and you're ready to get to work. I never realized it would be this good

This mic came as a part of the promotion that was going on with the purchase of Audio-Technica ATH M50x headphones. Now, I didn't realize that Blue microphones are produced by Logitech. I have a real studio grade microphone from AKG, so I kind of disregarded the fact that this cheap microphone could produce any quality input. I was wrong. The recording from this microphone was very much usable and the size makes is convenient to carry around when you don't have the luxury to travel with the bigger mics. I wouldn't compare the recording quality with pro grade mics, but for the price you're paying (if someone buys one) this is clearly a good choice.

The photos and product name no longer match the product. This is now just "aluminum". A little disappointed with B&H. The mic works well, but it doesn't look great.

I was sketchy about B&H when I looked up ''Blue Snowball'', $39.99 sounded like a sketchy price for a microphone, but after I placed my order, it shipped a few hours after ordering, I don't trust DHL after my phone case was in transit FOREVER they claimed it as ''LOST''. With this microphone though, it arrived in 4 days after shipping. I am a variety streamer and I was looking for a new microphone. Someone recommended BLUE MICROPHONES, so I looked for the cheapest microphone, and Blue Snowball was my only option since the YETI was $100. This microphone has worked ever since I got it all setup and has been working since. Great customer service helping me get the microphone setup.

i simply got a cheap USB microphone that i could put on a boom arm for the simple convenience of not having to use my headset mic. it's better than my headset mic from what people have told me and the convenience of not having to take off my headset to get up whenever is also working without fail. ---CONS-- -The red light can't be turned off -No mute button

The Snowball features two pickup pattern options, cardioid which is a more focused narrow pickup from the front of the mic, and an omni-directional pickup which captures sound evenly from all sides of the mic. This can be used for multiple subjects when placed correctly.

What is the diameter of the stand? I would like to buy a pop filter with a clamp to fit the stand.

A pop filter such as this, BH #AUPFSS55, should be able to clamp onto the stand of the mic, or onto a desktop for better stability.
