The Hitachi CP-RX80's 2200 lumens 400:1 contrast ratio projection power can fill a small to medium living room, meeting room or lecture hall. But that's not what makes it so special. This projector has features you just wouldn't expect at its very affordable price point.

Consider compatibility. This projector not only accepts and projects NTSC, NTSC 4.43, PAL, PAL-N, PAL-M, PAL-60 and SECAM video signals, it can do 720p and 1080i high definition. Its international power supply can handle juice from 100 V AC right up to 240 V AC. Its onscreen display (OSD) offers a choice of 31 languages. And it's compatible with dozens of PC and Mac video resolution and sync frequencies

Consider formerly high end features. This projector offers input naming so you can forget technical designations like Audio In 1 and give it a user-friendly name like "Mike's MP3 Player". It's got both Quick On and Instant Off. It does both 2:3 pulldown and progressive scan. They make your DVDs look their best—achieving quality some people can't distinguish from Blu-ray disc.

And consider this: At 29 dB its Whisper Mode fan speed is actually quieter than a whispered conversation.

2:3 Pulldown and Progressive Scan
If you've got a collection of DVDs you're not planning on junking just to buy Blu-ray replacements you want 2:3 pulldown and progressive scan. Without boring you with the technical jargon we'll just say it's the best way to get the very best from your current DVDs. Just a short while ago finding it in a projector at this price point was unheard of. Don't you love progress?
Extensive Security Measures
PIN-Lock allows only authorized users to use the projector. MyScreen PIN-Lock enables you to place an ownership startup screen in the projector. There's also a keypad lock that prevents unauthorized or inadvertent use of the controls. Finally there's a Kensington slot for physical security with a chain or cable (not supplied).
Input Source Naming
With Input Source Naming Video 1 becomes "Living Room TV" and Audio 2 becomes "iPod" or whatever you care to name them. It makes operation a little clearer and life just a little easier.
Picture Perfect Projection For up to 6000 hours per bulb
Sometimes you don't have a screen to project on. That's when Blackboard mode comes in handy. You can set the projector to color correct when you have to project on a blackboard or whiteboard. And lamp life doubles from 3000 hours to 6000 hours when you switch to ECO mode. As a bonus, fan noise drops from an already low 35 dB to 29 db, literally quieter than a whispered conversation.
