Digidesign Eleven Rack - Guitar Recording and Effects Processing System
Key Features
  • DSP Accelerated Interface
  • Realistic Guitar Amplifier and Effects
  • Classic Stompbox Tones
  • Microphone Preamp with Phantom Power
The Eleven Rack from Digidesign is a guitar recording and effects processing system designed to eliminate the challenges guitarists have faced in the studio and on stage, by combining Pro Tools software with a DSP-accelerated high-resolution interface. The rack utilizes a unique tone cloning design for creating the various amplifier and speaker models, and a custom-designed True-Z input to re-create the experience of playing through a full guitar rig.

Eleven Rack in the Studio
Because of the dual DSP-powered audio interface, latency is a non-issue when recording with the built-in amplifier/effects tones - nor will the computer have to carry the processing burden. The system also provides the ability to do real or virtual re-amping by recording both a dry and a processed guitar signal simultaneously. To aid in this process, the amplifier and effects settings can be embedded into the recorded audio tracks, enabling automatic recall of those settings from the audio files on any Pro Tools system with Eleven Rack.

Eleven Rack on Stage
Eleven Rack functions on stage as a standalone amplifier tone and effects signal processor. Also included are a classic collection of effects, from must-have stompboxes to world-class rack-mount studio processors. The interface has all the I/O flexibility needed to integrate it into any existing rig. Eleven Rack also offers incredibly powerful control options using affordable MIDI controllers and expression pedals, providing full foot control over everything from vintage wah effects, to tempo-driven delays and more.

True-Z
Input impedance - the electronic resistance found in the input circuit of the amp or effect a guitar is plugged in to - has a huge impact on the guitar tone. Each guitar reacts uniquely with each amplifier or effect. Digidesign recognized that re-creating this electronic relationship was critical in nailing the sound and feel of their emulations.

True-Z is a unique analog input circuit that replicates the input impedance of classic stompbox pedals and guitar amps, resulting in amazingly realistic sounds. It's almost as if the True-Z input on Eleven Rack morphs into the 1/4" input jack of whatever classic stompbox or amplifier is being used. The impedance of the True-Z input can also be manually controlled and set to a value that suits the playing style best.
