It is equipped with a variety of technologically advanced features for sharply focused portraits and landscapes in vivid color. It also captures movie clips at 16:9 high definition TV proportions (1280 x 720p) at a frame rate of 30 frames per second.
The Optio P80 comes equipped with an optical 4X zoom lens covering focal lengths from 27.5 to 110mm (equivalent in the 35mm format). With this wide zoom range, the Optio P80 can be used for a variety of subjects and scenes...from landscapes and group shots to tight snapshots from a distance. Plus it has three different types of anti-shake protection to keep images clear when hand-holding the camera in normal and low-light situations and also during movie recording.
An advanced Face Recognition function lets the Optio P80 automatically detect up to 32 faces in only 0.03 seconds, delivering optimally focused and exposed images. Other user-friendly features include a Smile Capture mode which automatically releases the shutter the moment the camera detects a subject's smile, and a Blink Detection function which warns the photographer when the subject blinks when the shutter is released.
The Optio P80 has a compact, ultra-slim body that can go anywhere. It contains many design elements, including an aluminum-alloy housing and delicately-contoured chrome-plated parts.
