    Optoma Technology HD66 reviews

HD66 Home Theater Projector is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 45.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Awesome for that price The projector is of a very small size and it gives an incredible image, even with light ambience, accepts several types of connections, it weighs very little, white combines with the room. It is the perfect complement, even for non-dedicated rooms, you don't have to be in the dark to appreciate it. It Works with movies, video games or from your PC. Definitely for lovers of cinema, we have your own cinema at home. It is as easy as plugging and using, a few simple adjustments, a very full and multi language manual. The packing of the impeccable projector. It is very important to calculate the projection distance and viewing. I am very pleased with the purchase. You have to see to believe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great piece! Totally worth it We easily hooked the Optoma up to our HD cable, surround sound system/blue ray player and our computer. The picture quality is unbelievable -- perfectly sharp and we don't even use a screen. (We project directly onto an off-white wall). We have our projector on a table/shelf as opposed to ceiling or wall-mounted. We love it. Easy to use. Great picture. The machine does get really hot itself, but we don't have any other appliances near it, so it's fine for us. I thought I might want one of the Epsons before comparing the picture quality of the Epson and Optoma side by side. The Optoma was far and away the clear winner in my book. MUCH crisper image.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The Bleeding Edge My goal was to view side by side 3d movies from my computer on this projector. However I quickly found out that this was not possible from several sources, including Optoma's own help desk - which, incidently, was no help at all. After searching for other users of this projector I determined that it would work. IF 1: I had PowerDVD; and 2: I had a more powerful computer and graphics card. So, this will set me back another $2K. If you already have the requirements, then go for it, otherwise be prepared to bleed some more. As a 2d projector it sings - enough lumens even in well lit room, quiet running and quick start and stop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pro's feature with Family budget I bought this product when I was trying to get a 720P HD65, I found this newer HD66 with higher lumens and 3D extra features, this is my first home HD movie project, I had a 50 LCD HD TV set already, and I watched my friends lower lumens project in his entertaiment room so I know the pros and cons of each set. But when I first time turn this project on my white wall connected to a blur-ray DVD player, it takes my breath away, I said wow! This project is very bright and picture quality is very detail, controlling is good and handy, can't wait for trying a 3D movie.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Amazing Bought this product and am simply blown away. I only use the HDMI connection and have it set up to display on a 120 inch 16:9 screen. I use this for watching HD tv, DVD-Bluray viewing and playing XBOX, all of which make all my friends jealous. System is hooked up to my HDMI audio/video receiver with surround sound. PROS: Crisp, clear high definition picture. Super quiet fan. Very bright lamp allows for suffient viewing in excess ambient light (turning the lights off turn a great picture to an absolutely amazing picture). HDMI is a HUGE benefit in this high definition world. No rainbow effect. Did I mention bright, crisp picture? Low price. 3D ready. CONS: Somewhat minimal zoom capability. Be prepared to tweak projector positioning. Only regret is I didn't buy it sooner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great value for money I received this projector last week for my Home Theather and I'm very happy I finally made the decision to get it. After doing the teawks recommended by projector central the picture is stunning and was able to fill my 120 screen, no worries with a very nice picture. This is my first projector ever so I can't really compare it with any other one, but in comparison to my HD 50 TV is quite incredible. A couple of things that surprise me is the size and weight, I was expecting a huge device, but it's very light and small and actually not too noisy when watching a movie.Probably the only thing to be aware is that the zoom functions won't allow great flexibilty regarding its position, but for that price, I don't really care....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect and Awesome Choice Projector This small but very inexpenxive projector is absolutely the best projector you can purcahse for the money. I had an $1800 high end Panasonic Projector which died on me just after the 2 yr. warranty expired. I replaced it with this Optoma HD66 Unit for only $and have found that it provides a very comparable viewing experience, very easy to setup and operate, and is even 3D ready. Unbelievable value for the price. I would recommend this to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great DLP projector I am using this projector to view DVDs and web video on a Dalite brand screen using a Windows 7 laptop. I did a lot of online research before buying the HD66 from B&H. Anyway, the projector is plenty bright and color is very good. It has all of the connectors I need and set-up was very easy. I use a lot of LCD and DLP projectors at work and having one that identifies the signal quickly and easily is very nice. The HD66 always picks up the signal right away. So far, I see no downside to this projector.
