NEC NP3250 Professional Installation Projector
Key Features
  • 5000 Lumens
  • 600:1 Contrast Ratio
  • 720p, 1080i High Definition
  • Wired and Wireless Network Ready
The NEC NP3250 Professional Installation Projector is one of NEC's first-in-the-world line of stackable projectors. No, you don't stack them on top of each other. You can place up to four of them side by side in a row to project one luminously bright and perfectly aligned image. With four NP3250s that's an image that's an incredible 20,000 lumens bright! It's ideal for larger sized screens (the NP3250 can project a 500 inch image) or where there is a great deal of ambient light.

But how do you get the images to line up correctly? The Stacking Correction Tool consists of a camera that you supply (a webcam will do) and software you can download from NEC.

Each projector projects its (slightly distorted) test pattern and the camera feeds the image to your PC. The software analyzes and compensates for each projector's unique position. You only have to use the Stacking Correction Tool once as long as you keep the same setup. So the stacking function is ideal for permanent installations.

The NP3250 offers much more, however. It's network ready thanks to both an RJ45 jack for wired networks and 802.11b/g Wi-Fi for wireless networks. Each projector has its own HTTP page and a group of projectors can be managed from a single remote location. You can even have a projector email you a status report when certain events occur, like when the lamp is nearing the end of its life.

Unlike many projectors the NP3250 is backed up by a full line of five interchangeable lenses, from a 0.8:1 fixed short throw lens up to a 4.62 - 7.021:1 zoom lens. And this projector offers manual lens shift up to 50 percent vertically and 10 percent horizontally. Lens shift allows you to move the image on the screen without moving the projector.

5000 Lumens and a 600:1 Contrast Ratio
That's plenty of projection power for a medium to large room even if there's lots of ambient light like lights left on so viewers can take notes.
Compatible With World Video and Power Standards
The NP3250 can handle NTSC at Standard (480i) and Enhanced (480p) resolutions plus HDTV (720p, 1080i) resolutions. It can also accept PAL, PAL-M, PAL-N, PAL60 and SECAM signals. And its 100 – 240 V AC 50/60 Hz power supply will work in most countries the world over.
Works Just as Well in Small Meeting Rooms as a Large Auditoriums
With a possible image size of about 25" (measured diagonally) to 500" (More than 40 feet!) you're sure to find the perfect location to mount your NP3250. And you can place it on a tabletop or mount it on the ceiling for front or rear projection.
"Stackable" Design
The industry's first stacking correction capability allows up to four NP3250 projectors to boost an image's brightness up to 20,000 lumens, which is ideal for larger-sized screens and environments with heavy ambient light. This feature also prevents the complete loss of an image, which can happen when using only one projector. To use the capability you use a webcam (not supplied) and downloadable PC software.
3D Reform is Like a Super Keystone Corrector
Allows you to square the image by adjusting horizontally, vertically or diagonally when the projector can't be placed exactly perpendicular to the screen.
Advanced AccuBlend
Ensures detailed images when non-native resolution sources are fed to the projector.
AutoSense
Automatically syncs with any computer signal and features one-touch image optimization.
Computer-Free Presentations
Insert a USB thumb drive or a PCMCIA card directly into the projector and you can change images using the wireless remote control provided.
Remote Diagnostics With Built-in HTTP Page
Remote diagnostics enable you to monitor and make adjustments to the projector remotely. In fact, the projector has its own built-in HTTP page for control and monitoring over a LAN or across the Internet. The projector can even email you notifications of error conditions and when the lamp is nearing the end of its useful life.
Flexible Video and Data Connections,
Connections include S-video, component video, DVI with HDCP, composite video, two computer inputs, two L/R RCA jack audio inputs, a stereo mini plug input and monitor and variable audio out.
Manual Vertical and Horizontal Lens Shift
Vertical lens shift of up to 50% and horizontal lens shift of up to 10 percent offers you flexibility in projector placement.
PIP/ESS For Multiple Images Onscreen
Allows two sources to be displayed on the screen at one time in either a picture-in-picture or side-by-side configuration.
Security Features Provide Peace of Mind
Cabinet control lock setting enables you to deactivate buttons on the cabinet to prevent unwanted changes to the projector settings. Logo lock restricts changes to logo you can save in projector memory. Password protection prevents unauthorized use of the projector. Email notification tells you when the lamp approaches the end of its useful life.
IDT Hollywood Quality Video
Integrated Device Technology HQV is a high-performance video processing and scaling system designed for computer signals as well as standard or high-definition video. The technology produces superior video processing using pixel-based, motion-adaptive de-interlacing to remove undesirable motion artifacts typical of interlaced signals. This processing creates life-like images in applications such as video conferencing.
XGA (1024 x 768) Native Resolution with UXGA Maximum Resolution
From XGA (1024 x 768) to UXGA (1600 x 1200) and more than 40 other PC, Macintosh, SUN and SGI resolutions/frequency pairings, the NP3250 is prepared for a very wide variety of computer presentations. Not to mention the occasional game. And it also does 720p and 1080i HDTV.
Extending the Life of the Projector
ECO Mode technology increases lamp life by up to 50 percent. Direct power off protects the lamp by enabling the cooling fan to continue running after power is disconnected. Built-in sensors protect the lamp and projector from overheating. And a sleep timer can be set to automatically turn off the projector.
When You Don't Have a Screen Handy Use Wall Color Correction
Sometimes you just don't have a screen and you have to use a blackboard or wall. With the NP3250 that's no problem. It can color correct for a whiteboard, blackboard, (gray) blackboard and wall colors of light yellow, light green, light blue, sky blue, light rose and pink.
Five Optional Lenses Available
The NP3250 comes with an F = 1.7 to 2.2, f = 24.4 to 32.5mm 1.3x zoom lens. But there are also five bayonet-style optional lenses to ensure that you'll find the right one for your application. The available lenses are:
  • 0.8:1 Fixed Short Throw Lens
  • 1.94 - 3.07:1 Zoom Lens
  • 2.98 - 4.77:1 Zoom Lens
  • 4.62 - 7.02:1 Zoom Lens
  • 1.18 - 1.54:1 Zoom Lens
