The Chrosziel C-840-01 is a modular mattebox designed to work with S35, 35mm Academy, 2/3", and 1/2" formats. Ideal for high-definition cameras, the mattebox can have up to four filter stages capable of housing 5.65 x 5.65", 4 x 5.65", and 5 x 5" glass filters.
Lens changes are quick and easy with the included quick-lock swing-away bracket for 15mm rods, or simply go with a clamp-on system to decrease size and weight (C-840-20 Clamp Adapter is sold separately). The mattebox has a 142.5mm rear connecting diameter. With the ability to configure the system to your specific needs, the C-840-01 is ideal for virtually any shooting environment.
Modular Design
Chrosziel's modular design accepts a series of interchangeable filter stages. This allows the mattebox to accommodate numerous filter sizes, including 4 x 5.65" and 5 x 5" filters, mounted vertically or horizontally. The unit's quick-lock device secures the initial filter stage and enables easy addition or exchange of the different filter stages when desired.
Rotating Filter Stages
The unit comes complete with a filter stage for two independently rotating 5.65 x 5.65" filters, making it large enough for ultra-wide lenses yet compact enough for handheld work. Operators can add up to two additional filter stages (sold separately). Additionally, the smart design provides ample room for the easy manipulation of filters, including vertical grads, to any desired position.
Clamp-on Option
Switching to a clamp-on system is quick and easy, thanks to the Chrosziel modification kit (sold separately). The bracket dismounts simply for replacement with a 130mm clamp adapter. Other advantages include mounting blocks, a pivot mechanism to interface optional sidewings, and a foldable French flag.
