The SP3X from Kurzweil is a fully-weighted 88 key stage piano with 64 musical instrument sounds and the ability to act as a programmable USB MIDI controller for computer audio usage. Although the SP3X can be used as a rich-sounding stage instrument and as a deep MIDI controller, it features a very user-friendly interface that keeps operations simple so you can concentrate on making music.
You can put the fully-weighted piano action keyboard to good use with the 7 included piano sounds, including the stereo triple-strike Grand Piano. With a 64 voice polyphony and 60 preset rhythm patterns, you can fully explore the musicality of the SP3X's Wurlitzer electric piano, stereo strings, brasses, guitars, basses, percussion sounds, and the A cappella Take 6 vocal samples. There's no shortage of rhythm patterns either, with many styles like ballad, pop, r&b, dance, rock, funk, country, Latin, jazz, and world grooves to choose from.
As a MIDI controller for the stage or the studio, the SP3X features a powerful Setup Mode that enables you to divide the keyboard into zones. Each of the 4 zones can cover any portion of the keyboard you like, use different MIDI channels, play different programs, and have its own controller assignments.
There is a wealth of fully MIDI programmable physical controllers on the SP3X. These include a pitch wheel, a modulation wheel, 4 front panel knobs, and jacks for continuous and switch pedals on the rear (a switch pedal is included in the box). The deep MIDI functionality of the SP3X, coupled with its user-friendly interface and rich on-board sounds makes it an excellent choice for performing musicians, producers, houses of worship, and anyone seeking a great sounding instrument.
