I have used the cord loops that usually come with the straps. These are wider and do not twist or dance, and they will not easily come off.

There are two types of these smaller connectors, one with a loop string and these with a buckle strap. These feel more comfortable, more stable with the rings and weight of my Olympus OM-D 1.

Are these the same size clips that are used on the mirrorless camera strap from optech?

Yes, these replace the 1.5mm cord Loop with a 1/4" tubular nylon webbing connector. The recommended load on the Mirrorless Strap and these connectors is up to 2.5 lbs.
