does this fit sony mdr7506?
AFAIK it will fit. I bought this adapter for my AKG q701s and it also happens to fit on another old pair of sony's I have. Even though this is manufactured by sure, the thread spacing is universal. So if you have a threaded-base 1/8th jack, it should fit.

Is this just a standard dimensioned, headphones-to-amp piece?
Yes, they are standard 1/4 inch plugs and 1/8 (3.5 mm) female in the other. They are particular in having a female thread inside the collar of the female 1/8 side. This matches many headphone uniplug designs.

I'm looking for replacement adapters for the Sony MDR-V6. It is a screw-on type that it needs. Do you know if this one will work? My main concern is the thread.
To my knowledge, the thread on most all studio headphones is the same. I can report this adapter works with KRK and Sennhieser headphones. I haven't tested it with Sony's but I bet it would work just fine.
