Full Duplex Operation
Allows you to view a live feed while simultaneously recording feeds from multiple cameras on a VCR. You can organize and streamline your set-up by monitoring multiple feeds from a central location.
Simultaneous Viewing of up to 4 Camera Feeds
Allows you to view/record/playback the feeds from up to 4 different cameras at the same time (multi-camera display) or in a sequential manner; this not only eases monitoring by ensuring comprehensive coverage but also gives you the flexibility to prioritize feeds as and when needed.

Inputs and outputs
4 Looping Video Inputs
You can display the feed from any of the 4 cameras or any other external device, including the output from any external monitor or switcher, on any display monitor connected to it.
2 Independent Monitor Outputs
1 main monitor output (with full-screen call-up, multi-camera display, VCR playback, sequencing) and 1 spot monitor output (with full-screen call-up, sequencing, alarm-based trigger).
Operations
On-screen Programming Menus
Password-protected menus make the set-up considerably easy and faster.
Multi-language Support
Supports multiple languages: English, French, German, and Spanish.
On-screen Alphanumeric Display
Shows essential information such as 12-character camera titles, time, date, and alarm.
Alarm-based Video Capture/Playback
Can be set to initiate recording or display over a certain feed upon a given pre-set alarm. This allows you to pre-set a coverage schedule in advance as per your needs.
Pan, Tilt, and Lens Control via Coaxitron
When used with the KBD4000 full-function keyboard controller, the multiplexer supports pan, tilt, and lens control via standard 15-bit Coaxitron receivers (all pan, tilt, and lens functions; auxiliary on/off) and standard 32-bit Coaxitron receivers (all pan, tilt, and lens functions; auxiliary on/off; setting and calling presets and patterns). This allows you to control the camera lens and make basic adjustments easily from the control bay itself.
Remote Control via RS-485
Supports remote control and operations over the RS-485 port, thereby giving you the option of being able to remotely control the entire set-up from outside the control bay.
Playback Support for Other Manufacturers' Tapes
Allows you to play tapes made with other manufacturers' multiplexers. However, in the case of Dedicated Micros models DM/SPG4/S/N/090 and DM/SPC4/D/N/6M, proper programming must be done to ensure that the tapes are compatible with the MX4004CD. Moreover, tapes made using the DM model SPR2AS/C/M/M are incompatible with the Pelco MX4004CD.
