    CAD E100S reviews

Equitek E100S Supercardioid Condenser Microphone is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 36.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from You're so square, baby I don't care My first session with this mic was spoken word. With the first sentence I got goosebumps. The performer does not have a particularly deep voice but when I heard the first words out of his mouth and looked over, I expected to see James Earl Jones or John Facenda. The mic captured a richness and clarity that I had not captured before recording the same voice through my Rode K2 or Shure SM7. Transients seemed clear and there wasn't much of the brittle high end common to some condensors. Since then it has impressed me on male rock vocals and acoustic guitar, although one singer refused to let me set it up just because he couldn't get past the look of it. The customer is always right I guess. Oh well, his loss.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy This is a great mic for my voice. Male baritone/tenor range. I rate the e100-S higher than the original e100. The S is quieter and just pristine, warm, full, kinda magic. The only mic I've used that might sound this good is the AKG 414. Started using the S the day it arrived. Recorded a new song and re-did the vocal on two others. Also used the S on acoustic guitar, (in stereo with an Audio Technica 4073) snare drum with brushes (mono). All tracks sound great and vocal re-dos are way better sonically than previous takes done with AKG Perception 220 or AT 4073.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Mic!!! After many of my engineer colleagues raved about this mic I decided to pick one up! The first thing I noticed when it arrived was that it was built like a tank and comes in a gorgeous cherry wood box. I set it up and ran it through my apogee duet. The mic is very quiet and after testing it on vocals and acoustic guitar I was very impressed. It has really nice air up top but also a nice warm mid and bass. It's a little hyped at 3k I found which made me think it would sound great on electric guitar. Very happy with the mic and it seems very versatile to me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Microphone! I use the cad e100s in my bedroom studio and it sounds great with vocals and guitar, and it sounds great as a drum overhead mic. It is dead silent when I plug it in and it does a great job picking up every little nuance from my acoustic guitar. The shock mount is awesome to mic up really close to guitar cabinets. The shock mount uses heavy duty rubber bands and it includes extra bands so if one of them happened to break (wich I don't think will happen anytime soon)you don't have to worry about not having a shock mount. Overall this a fantastic, versitile and well built mic that is pretty much great for anything you need to record. The only time I wouldn't use this mic is if I wanted to use it during a live show performance. Great Job CAD!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Awesome! I did more research on this microphone than any piece of audio equipment I've ever purchased. Everything from listening to on line mp3 audio samples to professional voice talent on youtube making comments about this American made professional microphone. Bottom line is as a professional broadcaster, spoken word producer, and voice talent, I'm glad I did! This microphone the Equitek E100s Supercardoid Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone by CAD is simply awesome!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why don't more people buy this mic? I was told to purchase a Sennheiser MKH 416 mic and after much research, I found a suitable alternative for less than half the cost! It's the greatest mic that no one knows about! The CAD E100S super cartoid condersor mic and it's American made. I had been satisfied with my sound before, but too many people told me that to be taken seriously in the world of VO, you had to get rid of the EV RE 20 dynamic mic. Typically I record TV/radio spots, video VO, IVR, and audiobooks. WOW! Was I blown away! The difference was better than I ever could have hoped for. While the sound of the RE 20 was OK, it sounded like I recorded something in a booth and the listener was out of the picture. Now, with the E100S, it sounds like I'm right in the room, up close and personal and the listener is interwoven into the experience. I would buy this mic again and again. My only regret is that I didn't do my research sooner and buy it years ago! I haven't discovered anything yet that I don't like. The only thing I found to give me any difficulty was mounting it on my mic stand. After positioning and repositioning, it was finally apparent that the only way to get it to balance was to install it upside down. Once that was done, it worked beautifully!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It breathes I used the original CAD e100 with great results, now the e100S steps up the performance level. My male baritone sounds as good as it will ever sound with this mic. There's a magic presence with the e100S--on acoustic guitar, harmonica and vocals. It's a keeper.
