The NX-5A from Fostex is an active 2-way nearfield monitor perfect for use in any home, project, or professional studio. It has a 5" Hyper Radial woofer that uses Radial Papermaking Technology for natural, smooth sound reproduction. The UDR (Up/Down Roll) Tangential edge on the woofer eliminates unwanted resonance. The 0.8" hard dome tweeter uses a magnesium diaphragm to eliminate sharp sound characteristics and provide an ultra-fast high frequency response.
The cabinet has internal walls to prevent standing waves in the enclosure, while aluminum frames minimize unwanted vibrations. The time-aligned front baffle, combined with the recessed tweeter, offers precise and pure sound. The NX-5A is powered by 2 separate amplifiers with a combined power of 100W, to provide strong, distortion-free performance. An output level control, as well as dedicated tweeter level control, and a bass EQ control are provided. XLR and 1/4" inputs allow you to connect the monitor to virtually any sound system. The speaker is magnetically shielded for safe use near video monitors and other electronics.
