Acer AS5740G-6979 Overview

The Aspire AS5740G-6979 Laptop Computer from Acer is a 15.6" notebook computer with a wide 16:9 aspect ratio display. Designed with multimedia performance in mind, the computer is also up to such tasks as e-mail, school work, and financial management. Its multi-gesture trackpad and full-size keyboard make the computer a joy to use.

The computer's 720p screen is driven by dedicated ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 graphics with a whopping 1GB of dedicated VRAM. It features an HDMI port for HDTV output. There is also a S/PDIF output, shared with the headphone jack, perfect for connecting the notebook to a surround sound system.

The system is powered by a 2.26GHz Intel Core i5-430M CPU and boasts 4GB of RAM, a 500GB hard drive, a SuperMulti DVD burner, and 802.11n Wi-Fi. Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) is the installed operating system.
