The Music Production Toolkit 2 from Digidesign provides a healthy dose of enhancements that expand the creative power of a Pro Tools LE or Pro Tools M-Powered system. The major upgrade provides for an expanded track count of 64 mono or stereo tracks at up to 48kHz. The 64 tracks are only available when used with Pro Tools 8 software - 48 mono or stereo tracks at up to 96kHz are still available with versions 7.3/7.4x.
A full range of professional music tools includes three virtual instruments. Digidesign's Eleven LE guitar amplifier emulation plug-in delivers the sound of modern and vintage amplifiers, stomp boxes and speaker cabinets. Hybrid 1.5, is a well integrated and full-sounding software synthesizer, while Structure LE fills the need for a sample playback instrument by including over 140 instruments, along with the ability to import other sample libraries and the controls to tweak both.
Processor plug-ins include a multi-track version of Beat Detective for rhythm analysis and correction, the Smack LE compressor, and the ability to export mixes as MP3 files using a high quality encoding algorithm. Finally, the TL Space Native Edition delivers a first rate convolution reverb processor along with a wide range of sampled reverb spaces and effects impulses. Additional impulses can be downloaded and easily imported into the plug-in.
