The SoundSlate from Open Labs is a versatile virtual instrument player and hardware DAW that provides you with a wealth of features in a simple 1RU design. The SoundSlate uses Open Labs' music operating environment with over 8000 sounds and effects, a robust I/O, a computer core running Windows XP, and a suite of software options to provide you with any tool you need.
The SoundSlate acts as a hardware DAW with 24-bit/192kHz A/D converters, the same as the ProTools HD 192 I/O interface. The SoundSlate can act as a coprocessor with your ProTools rig to play any VST with ease. The Riff VST hosting software lets you turn your traditional keyboard into an open system. Cubase LE, Sonar LE, and LIVE LE software is included to get you up and running right away.
The SoundSlate has an optimized Windows operating system that natively supports any music application or plug-in that's designed for a PC. This allows it to run all of the popular music applications such as ProTools, Nuendo, Native Instruments Komplete, and Spectrasonics Omnisphere. The SoundSlate is also equipped with an Ethernet port that lets you connect to the Internet for remote viewing and diagnostics from the Open Labs tech support for quick and easy troubleshooting.
A number of options are available for the SoundSlate that allow it to perform at an even higher level. MimiK keyboard software will clone the sounds of any MIDI keyboard or sound module, allowing you to store all of your keyboards directly in the SoundSlate. You can also get the Controller II touchscreen LCD for intuitive stylus-based control.
