The ExpressBox4 1U PCI Express Expansion System from Magma is an external PCI Express expansion system for Sun Blade servers. It is compatible with the Sun Blade 6000, 6048, and 8000 series. The system features an ExpressModule host card for the host computer and an external chassis that can house up to 4 full-length PCI Express x16 expansion cards.

The ExpressBox4 1U is a cost-effective solution for expanding the PCI Express capabilities of Sun Blade systems. Housed in a 1U rackmount form factor, the expansion system features a hot-swappable redundant power supply and hot-swappable cooling fans. Each PCI Express slot is hot-pluggable, allowing you to replace a card without shutting down the system.

The device features temperature and power monitoring, sending alerts via SNMP and an audible alarm. It is designed for installation in a standard 4-post rack cabinet and features card retainers inside the enclosure to ensure that cards are kept in place during transport. You'll be able to install the system with ease, as it is automatically configured by the system BIOS.
