Don Zeck N30 Overview

The integrated folding handle design of the Don Zeck Lens Cap allows you to quickly install or remove it when traditional snap-on lens caps are too awkward and slow to keep up with sports or action shooting. Regular lens caps can be challenging to use with deep lens hoods, but these rigid plastic protective caps can be used with the hood in the active or stored position, or even without the hood at all. When you're ready to shoot just pull the cap off by its handle and you're ready to go.

The lens cap is held in place using six O-rings, which provide a tight, perfect fit without touching the lens surface or damaging your lens.

Had to make it fit, sort of.

Brother and I bought a Nikon 500 f/4 and bought this lens cap to use instead of the slip-on cover that comes with the lens. It didn't fit on either of our lenses. Watched the video on his web site and tried that method. We both ended up removing the grommets around the inner 'pegs' and using an x-acto knife, I trimmed a couple of them. Sent an email to the company, but never heard back.

I use a Lowepro Flipside 500 AW backpack. The Nikon 500mm f4 and D7100 combination fits into this bag OK, but the stock nikon lens hood is slow to use and bulky. I can get my camera out and ready to use much quicker, and store it back in my bag quicker, with the Don Zeck lens cap. My lens now takes up less room.

will this Zeck N30 lens cap fit the older nikon 500mm f/4p, which has a 122mm front lens? If not, is there another one that will?

No unfortunately, the cap does not fit the Nikon 500mm f4 P version of the lens. There is no such option offered for that particular lens.
